The Hospitality & Tourism courses at IEA College of TAFE offer a diverse and exciting pathway for students interested in the dynamic world of hospitality and tourism. Certificate 2 in Kitchen Operations (PGISIT20416)

Course Overview

With the Certificate 2 in Kitchen Operations (PGISIT20416), graduates will work in kitchen operations in organizations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shop, and undertake a limited range of food preparation and cookery tasks. This qualification does not provide the skills required by commercial cooks, which are covered in SIT30816 Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery

Entry Requirements

Entry requirement is a Grade 12 school leaver certificate, but the College will always take into consideration any work experience, so such a formal entry requirement may not always apply. Interested students are strongly advised to contact the College for further guidance.

Course Overview

With the Certificate 3 in Tourism (PGISIT30116), graduates work in many tourism industry sectors including tour operators, inbound tour operators, visitor information centers, cultural and heritage sites, and tourism business. Graduates undertake office-base roles involving the planning and coordination of tourism service, or roles in the field where products are delivered.

Course Overview

With the Certificate 3 in Hospitality (PGISIT30616), graduates will have well-developed hospitality service, sales or operational skills and sound knowledge of industry operations. Graduates will work in jobs including food and beverage attendant, waiter, front desk receptionist, function host, and housekeeper. Progression to PGISIT40416 Certificate 4 in Hospitality is available through on-line enrolment.

Entry requirement is a Grade 12 school leaver certificate, but the College will always take into consideration any work experience, so such a formal entry requirement may not always apply.
